Who we are

SR-7 Design Works is a precision-focused engineering and design consultancy built on real-world execution, accountability, and disciplined problem-solving. We exist to bridge the gap between ideas and engineered reality—delivering designs that are not only functional, but ready to be built, deployed, and relied upon.

Every project is approached with clarity, structure, and an understanding that good design must survive beyond the screen.

What Is SR-7 Design Works?

SR-7 Design Works provides professional mechanical design, CAD modeling, and product development support for clients who need more than conceptual visuals. We specialize in creating manufacturing-ready designs supported by sound engineering judgment, realistic timelines, and clear deliverables.

Unlike generic design services, SR-7 operates with an execution-oriented philosophy. Designs are developed with consideration for production flow, supply chain constraints, quality control, and downstream assembly—because that is where most projects succeed or fail.

We work selectively to ensure each engagement receives the attention, rigor, and technical accountability it deserves.

  • SR-7 Design Works is not built on theory alone. It is built on execution.

Our work reflects experience in environments where failure is not abstract—where designs must integrate with people, processes, timelines, and physical constraints. We bring together strategic thinking, manufacturing awareness, and engineering discipline to deliver solutions that are practical, defensible, and ready for implementation.

  • SR-7 Design Works is led by Severin Riedel, Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a background that spans defense operations, manufacturing process engineering, and end-to-end mechanical design ownership.

    Department of Defense Experience

Prior to formal engineering roles, Severin operated in high-energy, high-risk environments within the Department of Defense, supporting and training U.S. Army Green Berets, Delta Force (CAG), and MARSOC units. This work focused on strategic planning, decision-making under pressure, and operating in environments where clarity, timing, and execution were critical.

While not an engineering role, this experience shaped a disciplined approach to problem-solving, communication, and accountability—principles that remain central to SR-7 Design Works.

    Manufacturing Process Engineering – Fletcher

At Fletcher, Severin served as a process engineer responsible for modernizing inventory and production tracking systems. The facility was operating on manual, paper-based ledgers at the start of his tenure. By the end, real-time digital inventory tracking had been implemented through automated software systems, including JobBOSS.

This work required direct interaction with production staff, a deep understanding of workflow inefficiencies, and practical change management—ensuring new systems actually worked on the shop floor.

    Mechanical Engineering – Scribner

At Scribner, Severin operated as a full-scope, end-to-end mechanical engineer within the hydrogen sector. He maintained full project ownership of large-scale assemblies designed for in-house assembly line production.

    Responsibilities included:

    • Complete mechanical design and release of all project components

    • Forecasting part availability, lead times, and shipping schedules

    • Managing technicians and assembly teams to ensure quality and consistency

    • Coordinating production flow and resolving build issues in real time

This role required balancing design intent with manufacturing realities, supply chain variability, and production deadlines—experience that directly informs how SR-7 Design Works approaches client projects today.
